The Lion and the Clever Rabbit

In a dense forest, a ferocious lion ruled as the king. He was feared by all the animals because he hunted them relentlessly. The animals, tired of living in constant fear, came together and decided to approach the lion with a proposal. They offered to send one animal each day to the lion as his meal, sparing the others from his daily hunts. The lion, pleased with this arrangement, agreed.

One day, it was a clever rabbit's turn to be the lion's meal. The rabbit, unwilling to be eaten, thought of a plan to outsmart the lion. He deliberately took his time getting to the lion's den, arriving much later than expected. When the lion, furious with hunger, demanded to know the reason for the delay, the rabbit calmly explained that he had encountered another lion on the way. According to the rabbit, this other lion claimed to be the true king of the jungle and tried to eat him.

Intrigued and enraged by the idea of a rival lion, the lion demanded to be taken to this impostor. The clever rabbit led the lion to a deep well and told him that the other lion lived inside it. When the lion peered into the well, he saw his own reflection in the water. Mistaking it for the other lion, the lion roared fiercely. The roar echoed back, further convincing the lion that the rival was challenging him. In a fit of rage, the lion jumped into the well to attack his reflection, only to drown in the deep water.

The rabbit returned to the other animals and shared the news of the lion’s demise. The entire forest rejoiced, praising the rabbit’s intelligence and bravery.
